Fire destroys building and shop in Chambersville
A Tuesday night fire of unknown origin leveled a large dwelling owned by Corzetta Duca and a meat shop in Chambersville. The property was insured for 2500 dollars with Thompson's Agency. Forced to Leave Home Boy Walks to Indiana for Shelter
Eleven year old Frank Sarkoski, from near Carneytown, walked to Indiana on Monday morning to escape alleged abuse by his father. He said the father threatened to beat him after a Sunday horse retrieval and ordered him to leave forever. Staying overnight with a neighbor, Frank reached Indiana to place himself under commissioners care. The family, owning 50 acres in Washington township, reportedly faces destitution and includes five children.
