Three Offenders Sentenced In Indiana Street Railway Case
A Blacklick jury awarded Horrell 440 dollars for property damages in a case against the Indiana Street Railway Company. Cragin received 600 dollars for land taken by the railroad in Armstrong town. Cragin claimed 2500 dollars in damages and was awarded 658 by viewers. The court continued several trials and jurors were instructed not to appear next week. Charles Ratenlis was sentenced to pay costs a 100 dollar fine and 12 years in the penitentiary for manslaughter. Sandy Gasbore and Sandy Wad faced sentences for assault and battery and related offenses. Logan Faith pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sent to the Huntingdon Reformatory. The Sharp descendants held a reunion at J. A. Wood’s near Shelocta with 66 attendees and officers elected. Negotiations circulated about outside interests purchasing the Indiana County street railway system with an option reportedly given by the local company.
