Flag raisings inspire Indiana communities despite rain

A series of flag raising events across Indiana towns drew large crowds despite a rainy start. In Clymer, Gen Harry White and Attorney W M Mohan spoke as a 75 foot pole bore a community flag. In South Bend, 500 residents attended with Samuel McKnight and Rev Hartman addressing the crowd. Schools joined with bands and patriotic services while other towns held flag ceremonies at West Lebanon, Plainville, Elders Ridge and related locales, with community groups, local officials, and students participating.
