Republicans Name New Chairman at County Convention
Fifty five of sixty six districts were represented as the Republican County Committee met at the Court House to select a new chairman for the year. Robert H. Young was chosen amid no contest. H J Graft cast the vote for him. Fisher was thanked for four years of leadership and will retire. Otis Trainer and J Blair Sutton named secretary and treasurer respectively. Roosevelt support and the state platform drew debate. A. E. McKelvey resigned and Robert J. Leech filled the vacancy. General Harry White and attorneys spoke in support of Roosevelt and the Harrisburg platform.

Stevinga and Streams, local furniture dealers and undertakers, bought a four site for a new business house from Indiana Lodge of Elks on Thursday for 10000 dollars. The lot fronts 26 feet and runs 202 feet deep. A modern three story brick building will be erected with basement storage and repair room once plans are completed to accommodate the growing business.

Man's Heart Twelve Inches Long Post Mortem Case
A post mortem on Robert T. Longwill, formerly of Dixonville, who died Meadeville recently, found his heart abnormally enlarged to twelve inches. Doctors noted traces of tuberculosis but attributed death to the enlarged heart. Relatives had sought the autopsy after doubts about the cause of death and asked for examination of the heart.
