Election of James F Chapman County Superintendent
A county school director meeting in the court house yesterday re-elected James F Chapman as county superintendent by unanimous vote with 265 directors present. The session also announced successful candidates for recent public school certificates and added algebra credits for several holders across townships including Armstrong, Gayne Rowe, Clive Holstein, Virginia Miller, and many others. Normal Sprinters Win Great Relay Race at Penn
The Normal school relay team of Myers and Bruce from town and Castaneda and Smith from Normal won the one mile relay at the University of Pennsylvania races in Philadelphia. Maryland College placed second, Dickinson third, and W. and J. fourth. Castaneda and Myers also excelled in the 100 yard dash and 120 yard hurdles against Yale Princeton Michigan and Penn stars. The team travels to State College next Saturday to contest the central and western Pennsylvania championship.

David Newton known as Peggy, a colored barber, killed himself at his home on Philadelphia Street after a relapse to drink. He had joined a mission Sunday school a year earlier and led a temperate life until last week, then became intoxicated and took poison Monday morning as his wife was away. Doctors could not save him.

Patron's Mutual Adopts New State Charter at Meeting
Patron's Mutual Fire Insurance Company held in the court room on Friday afternoon as the new state charter was accepted and by-laws revised.
