A large blaze in Blacklick destroyed the Elite Printing Co plant and damaged the Opera House poolroom and nearby homes. The fire began at 9:36 pm in the Shire Printing Co. plant, with damages estimated around 15 000 dollars. J J Palmer and D A Palmer & Son losses included household goods and stockroom contents. The Blacklick volunteer fire company fought the flames as residents consider a chemical extinguisher purchase.
