Knowledge Your State Farming Still a Leader

KNOW YOUR STATE examines Pennsylvania agriculture's role as a leading industry. It notes land use with half the land in farms despite only one twelfth of residents farming, a rise in farm counts to 191,284 by 1935, and a shift toward specialized crops. Dairy products dominate cash income, followed by crops, poultry, and fruits with much land in pastures and wood lots.
