Prominent Brushvalley Farmer Killed by Falling Limb
George Hill a 65 year old farmer of Brushvalley township was instantly killed on his own farm while cutting timber. A heavy limb torn from a tree struck him and pinned him for over an hour until help arrived. Coroner said death was instantaneous. no inquest. He leaves a wife and six children Elmer Dane Goldie Carrie Hthel and Marie. Funeral Thursday morning at the Methodist Episcopal church.

Hoker Point Man Found Dead in Bath Room
George W Riddle aged seventy six died of heart trouble in the New Brunswick Hotel Windber. He was found in his bathroom at 1 am by Amos Bloom his son in law. He had been in ill health but was improving recently. He lived with Amos Bloom for three years and was a Civil War veteran. Survived by children John and James Riddle DuBois Harry Riddle Curwensville Cora Sheosley Indiana and Latra Bloom Windber. Burial at Deckara Point with funeral at 2 pm today.

Henry TY of Rossiter aged 15 years is held in county jail for murder and wounding after a Saturday night street fight involving John Tkoch and John Yaniga. Tkoch died while trying to separate the quarrel. Martin allegedly drew a revolver and fired twice. Martin claims self defense after prior feuds with Yaniga. The dead man was respected, and witnesses say he acted to stop the bout. Martin was captured in Punxsutawney and brought to jail Sunday.

Fire destroys Brushvalley drug store and dwelling
Fire in Brushvalley Saturday evening at 6:30 destroyed Samuel J. Glassford’s drug store and J A Kelly’s dwelling. Cash losses included 160 in the Kelly home and 360 in the store. Fire started from an overheated kitchen stove pipe. nearby James Mack and Quay Overdorff were slightly burned while assisting. The George Buchanan home adjoining suffered heavy damage. Small insurance covered both structures.

Four Munshower Brothers Reunite After Years apart
Four Munshower brothers from Indiana Lovejoy Blairsville Blacklick township met in Indiana on Wednesday. Assailant Charged After Hatchet Attack at Cookport Home
Mr. B F Keating of Pittsburg accused Samuel J McCullough, Cookport merchant, of assault with intent to kill after Keating says McCullough struck him with a hatchet at the McCullough residence where Keating sought his wife and children. Peculiar Coincidence in Livery Fire Injury
Two separate incidents appear related by a chain used on hose carts. Pennsylvania Railroad agent CG RB Clark lost part of his left little finger at the fire that damaged M F Jamison’s livery stable, catching in the chain winding the hose. Earlier, at J C McGregor’s livery fire, Mark Watson lost part of his right thumb to the same chain. The chain was removed to prevent further accidents.
