Leslie Cochran is seized six weeks after the F. T. Empfield drug store robbery. Constable Wettling tracked him to a stable at the fair grounds, where Cochran had hidden for weeks, keeping a rough camp with a few possessions and a stash of stolen goods. He confessed the theft to Empfield and led detectives to possible accomplices in Latrobe and Uniontown.

A Cherry hill township boy, son of Jacob Henry, was severely burned after he dropped a red hot coal into a powder filled popgun and the explosion burned his face and both eyes. Dr. Mabon of Penn Run treated the burns and hopes to save at least one eye.

Drunkenness and Disorder Lead to City Jail Stays
Policeman Langham arrested Bood Sheffler and two tramps Saturday night for drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Sheffler released Sabbath. on Monday fines of $5 for Sheffler and $3.50 for the tramps or 20 days each. Tramps released on condition to leave town. Wednesday Balentine arrested for drunkenness with $1.50 fine. Monday night Scott Cochran pulled in for drunkenness and fined $6 plus costs.

Glass Plant Initiates Production to-Day for Ware
The glass works begin manufacturing the first product today as announced in last week's Progress. The plant will run through the season's close with test ware produced now and improved results expected later this week. Additional glass blowers arrive next week and each department will operate at full capacity.
Pension Grants For Four Veterans And Widows
Pension attorney Frank Donabugh secured four pensions last week for two old soldiers and a veteran's widow. Samuel O. Bartlebaugh of Purchase Line and John K. Myers of Whitetownship received 6 dollars monthly with back pay of 72 and 54 dollars respectively. Susannah Moore widow of Israel Moore was awarded 8 dollars monthly and 200 dollars back pay. Mr. A. J. Smith received 8 dollars monthly and 91 dollars back pay.

Squire Samuel Griffith of Banks township sustained severe injuries last week while working in his saw mill. He slipped and fell into a fast revolving edger, lacerating his hand. His thumb was cut off, two fingers lost, and the remaining two severely deformed.

Evening with Tennyson entertains crowded Normal Chapel
A large audience attended the Junior Exhibition in Normal chapel. The class of ’96 presented Tennyson with scenes, readings, and songs. John M. Ray of Water street died Thursday evening after a four year stomach ailment and a severe recent attack. He was 60 years old, a senior partner in Ray & Earl hardware merchants, born in Rayne township, son of Matthew Ray, married Mary Thompson in 1867, and is survived by his wife and son Joseph. A Presbyterian, funeral was held Saturday with Rev. Dr. Hall officiating, interment at Oakland cemetery.

Mrs Chambers Dies at Bradford After Birth
Mrs. Chambers wife of Prof W G Chambers of the Normal school died at her mother's Bradford home on Thursday at about 22 years of age. She became a mother about a week before her death and remained in critical condition until the end. A large circle of friends at the school and in town mourn her loss. Unusual Hemlock Fragment Displays Odd H Shaped Fork
Dan B Williams brings a 178 year old hemlock limb specimen from Green township. The three branch segments show a fork at 63 feet and a second branch at 68 feet.
