Grim Reaper Claims Saltsburg Man In Sabbath Death
William McQuiston died at about 35 after a four year health decline from consumption. He lived with brother Alvin near Saltsburg, worked previously with Kelly & McQuiston in Saltsburg, and was a Presbyterian in Saltsburg. Funeral held Tuesday at the Saltsburg church, interment in the Saltsburg cemetery. James Kelly of Rayne township died Sunday night at 66 from paralysis after a Thursday supper attack. He served his community and was a Rayne Presbyterian member. He leaves a wife and two children Milton and Mrs Jennie Wilson. burial followed Tuesday in the church graveyard.

Attempts at Thefts in Town Wednesday Night
Thieves conducted several small robberies in Third ward on Wednesday night. They entered J. W. Mitchell’s residence and took kitchen provisions. A freezer with ice cream was moved from Leslie Hazlett’s porch to a stable and emptied. An attempt to break into a cellar failed. Mrs. Sarah St. Clair’s outhouse was rifled and then left. Harness was stolen from J. C. Young’s Sixth street stable. Tramps living in a nearby deserted railroad house frequented the area for provisions. The incidents are blamed on the tramps.

Emanuel Lobr of Washington township received a pension of 16 dollars per month after serving in Company C 108th Pennsylvania Infantry and secured nearly 500 dollars back pay. George W. Roof of this area had his pension raised by 4 dollars monthly to 10 dollars. Frank Donahugh aided both pensions last week. G. W. Beal of Huff, recently injured in a railroad accident at Derry, is recovering and plans to return to work this spring. Beal has lived in Derry since last November and will move back to Huff in spring. Johnstown District Young Men's meeting held a convention here with Chas Smith, A Calp, M Work, Arthur Russell, James Bruce and Ds D. J. Waller.
