A freight wreck near Blacklick yesterday evening involved 17 cars, 10 loaded with coke, when a draw-head broke causing engine and three cars to detach. Ten cars piled on the tracks, no serious injuries except Ferguson of Blairsville with a broken arm. Wrecking crews cleared tracks overnight. service resumed with passenger due at 11.00 this morning.

Miner killed as coal pile collapses at Richardson coal bank
In East Mahoning township near Rochester Mills, W. R. Rittenhouse was instantly killed while drawing a pillar when 75 bushels of coal and slate fell on him. George Richardson, his companion, escaped with injuries. The dead man, 34, leaves a wife and three children. funeral at Pine Grove cemetery with services by Rev. Cameron and Alert Lodge.

Graceton Boy Believed Saved After Train Accident
Seventeen year old Charles Buterbaugh of Center township narrowly escaped death at Graceton on Saturday evening when he and friends tried to board a moving freight train. His right arm and leg were crushed and amputated near the shoulder and ankle. He was taken to a nearby house for aid and later to his home in a weakened condition. Doctors credited with his survival after the severe injuries.

Farmers in Session Two Days Institute at Blairsville Trade City
The State Board of Agriculture hosted farmers institutes at Blairsville Friday and Saturday and at Trade City Monday and Tuesday. Men Arrested for Counterfeiting in Dixonville Case
United States Detectives Griffen and Irons arrested James McDermitt, landlord of the Central hotel, and John D. McKean of Green township on counterfeiting charges.
