Indiana Normal School Commencement for 181 Graduates
Indiana State Normal School closes its 36th year with 181 graduates, including 18 from music and 18 from commercial and art departments. The week features a baccalaureate by Rev. Dr. John Willey, an alumnae banquet, a concert by the Madrigal Club and Conservatory Orchestra, and a commencement dinner. The stage play The Amazons was cut short by rain, and students, alumni, and faculty attend multiple events in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

Acquittal at last in Ony See trial shocks court official
Last Friday a criminal court session closed with Anthony Karpolsky acquitted of perjury after a five day trial. He was ordered to pay half the costs, while G B Vanida was found guilty of removing mining checks, fined $100, and given three months in the workhouse. The verdicts arose from civil action against the New York Ontario and Western Railroad over a 1910 mule incident at the Jimtown crossing near Arcadia.

Mrs John Allison from Lawrence Kansas arrived Monday for visits with friends and relatives in Homer City. Numerous residents visited, attended church fairs, and many local families welcomed guests from nearby towns. The town reported a stalled ice plant, a noisy 7 40 trolley, and pay day at the Verone mines while residents shared news of visits, illnesses, and a large turnout at the Lutheran and M E church fairs.

Sabbath School Rally in Taylorsville Draws Large Attendance
The annual convention of Sabbath schools of Clymer district No 4 held in Taylorsville drew strong participation. Delegates from 37 schools enjoyed a picnic dinner, with sessions on Graded Lessons and adult class work. Key speakers included D F Rinn of Indiana Lutheran church and H L McCrough of Cockport, with Attorney William Liggett delivering the evening address. The district banner for front line status was displayed, and future meetings are planned in Hellwood and Cherryhill Township. The 1909 1910 and 1911 enrollments rose to 2107 2846 and 3914 respectively, marking the county’s largest gains in religious work. Officers elected include President David J Price and Secretary Mrs A J Stewart, among others.

Rev Newcombe Installed as Pastor in Indiana Presbytery
Rev. W. Ke. Newcombe formerly of York was installed as pastor of the Second United Presbyterian church of Indiana at a Cone maugh presbytery meeting held yesterday afternoon. Rev. J. Mimbrie of town was moderator with Rev. James Given offering the opening prayer. The presbyterial accounts were audited and found in good condition. Prior to installation, Rev. EB Robb preached the ordination sermon and Rev. D. R. Turnbull of Altoona delivered the installation sermon, with Rev. D. R. Tinker of Altoona giving the charge.

Narrow Escape After Auto Skids Near Town
A car near Reithmiller's, north of town, skidded off the road and over an embankment. The top and windshield protected occupants Wilber Seanor and Blanche Seanor, who escaped with shock and bruises while the machine suffered $75 damage. Rescuers righted the vehicle, and the passengers recovered. Three other items note related deaths and injuries in regional families.
