Former County Man Elopes With 14-Year-Old Bride
Dr J M Blose aged 60 formerly of Marchand and Miss Frances B Wood aged 14 of Washington Pa were principals in a sensational elopement last week. Blose a former Marchand band director and noted musician taught privately. Wood was his pupil who had been sent to Coombs Conservatory in Philadelphia. They eloped to New York and wed by the groom's brother an Episcopal minister. Blose had divorced his first wife years ago.

Three Fugitives Return to County Jail
Three escapees from the county jail were recaptured and returned to custody. Catherine Miller, 18, confessed to four larceny charges after being caught near Blacklick while returning to Indiana to surrender. Her captors also arrested Harry Sheffler and his wife in Hillside and Derry, with Chester Frye still at large. Frye, the only one with money, had dried supplies as the group wandered, eventually boarding a freight train and fleeing toward Cambria county before being cornered.

PULPERTON WOMAN ENDED DCE IN CALAMITOUS DEATH
Loretta Hughes Hunter 65 widow of Civil War veteran John Hunter drank poison then hanged herself at her El derton home on Monday. Her body found by Hiterton Academy boarders late Monday afternoon. A letter near the closet gave instructions for actions upon discovery. Squire J Cal George named to settle estate and care chickens. Neighbors to dress and prepare the body. Funeral at her home Tuesday followed by services at the Urbana home of her brother Thomas Hughes, with interment in Arbana cemetery today. She was a longtime Miderton resident, United Presbyterian member with no children, survived by brothers Thomas and George Hughes and sister Mrs James Irwin.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Walker of Indiana observed their 50th wedding anniversary with a family reunion. The couple wed June 14, 1866 at the Lowman home and moved to town two years later. They have nine children and 24 grandchildren. The celebration included a dinner and a gift of $50 in gold.

William Mikin and Charles Hock of Sinteksburg were thrown from a buggy when their horse bolt ed near Mer Elkin s bridge. Mikin suffered a broken jaw and facial injuries while Beck lost clothing to a barb wire fence. A horse driven by Mrs Davis of Georgaville caused another spill with minor injuries to her.
