Fly Footsteps And Vacuum Tube Noise Study
New York physicist Dr. J B Johnson of Bell Labs demonstrates that electrons and thermal agitation create noise that limits audio amplification. The study notes that while exceptionally small sounds like a fly’s footsteps can be amplified, excessive electronic interference rises with temperature and can drown out faint signals, revealing practical limits for telephone engineers.
