Immunity in Measles Serum Sparks Medical Breakthrough
Dr Rudolf Diegkwitz reports in Deutsche Medizinische Wochenschrift that a serum from convalescent measles patients immunizes those inoculated. The Manchester Guardian notes this could mark a preventive medicine epoch, with 1,700 cases in a series and 1,800 controls showing favorable outcomes. The piece contrasts measles with scarlet fever and smallpox, urging public awareness and vaccination. Knoxville students build 1,200 feet of macadam road for under 150 dollars under supervision.
