Pennsylvania Coal Output in 1907 Sets New Records

The United States Geological Survey reports 1907 coal production in Pennsylvania exceeding prior annual records. Anthracite output reached 76,432,421 tons with value about 163.58 million dollars, while bituminous coal totaled 150,821,437 tons valued around 156 million dollars. Combined state production rose significantly, driven by Central Pennsylvania growth, amid miner and railcar shortages and high summer prices.
