Too Many Cherries Alleged in Young Girl’s Death

Lightning Strikes Diehl Home Wrecks House
During a Friday evening electrical storm in Cherryhill township the home of A J Diehl in Penn Run was struck by lightning, badly damaging the structure and leaving all occupants unconscious. Mrs Diehl, two daughters Ila and Bella, and cousins Ruby Maxwell Slater and Milas McSeaters suffered injuries. Belle Diehl and Maxwell remain confined. Twenty eight panes shattered and plaster ruined. Mr Diehl rode to Albert Coy’s for help. Dr Stephens attended.

At Saltsburg a car was struck by a light engine as three men crossed West Penn railroad tracks near the Conemaugh Coat Company. Josaph Shaffer aged 41? and Joseph M rat t aged 27 died. Charles Shaffer aged 27 injured. Coroners jury ruled deaths accidental and exonerated the railroad.
