Gen A J Cogan has completed arrangements for Second Brigade Camp James A Beaver to open July 18 near Indiana court house. Grounds include 25 miles of area, illuminated streets, private baths, and full water supply. 3,260 citizen soldiers expected with work hours from 7 to midnight and dress parade at 5 30. Rail and streetcar lines prepared for crowds. Governor's day set for June 23 with a military ball to close encampment week.

Murder at Contractors Camp Ends in Death
Eugene Weathers aged about 20 was shot in the groin by Thomas Ely at the contracting camp of Sheesely and Jennings near Seward. The quarrel over Nora Myers, a cook, sparked the tragedy. Ely fled as the Myers girl was jailed as a witness. Ely’s capture is awaited. Weathers died about an hour after being shot.

Young Man Found Owed to Robin Son Barn Tragedy
Clark Raymond McElhoes of Robinson son aged about 62, was found dead by hanging in his barn last Tuesday morning. He left a widow and his aged mother, with three young children. No clear reason for the act is given. A birthday party near Trade City marked a family gathering with many relatives present. Postmaster salaries in the county were adjusted on July 1, raising several offices and reducing Hellwood’s. An automobile accident near Elk County claimed the life of B H Barr, 43, of Dixonville. Other social visits and gatherings filled the week round, including a Sun day School picnic and a Uber family reunion at the Indiana fair grounds planned for July 28.
