Model Dog Law With Governor Proposed Act Passes

Harrisburg Pa The House and Senate concur in amendments to a new dog license law aimed at protecting sheep growers and encouraging industry by requiring licenses or fines. It fixes county license fees for male and female dogs, allows kennel licenses, restricts taxes, and places dog regulation under city councils. Provisions cover licensing transfers, seized dogs, penalties for unlicensed dogs, and owner liability for livestock damage with county reimbursement if the owner fails to pay. The Wild Life League helped push the bill and supported a remedy for illegally killed dogs.
