The annual license court met Monday with 12 applications filed including Indian Brewery of Indiana. Charges were pressed against Edward Empfield and C H Moore for selling to minors and those with known intemperate habits. Remonstrances were filed against most applications, and hearings continued into the evening amid broad countywide concerns over licenses.

Chumber Medal for Francesco Corsaro Heroic Rescue
Francesco Corsaro of Clymer was permanently disabled while aiding Officer Leonard in a November 1 1948 incident. He received a Carnegie Hero Fund Commission medal and a $7 monthly pension to support his family after saving the officer from two assailants who attacked him in a poor section of town. Corsaro, paralyzed from the waist down, is recovering at Dixonville hospital.

Youth Admits Cow theft to cover debts in Apollo area
Indiana man recovers a Jersey cow stolen from White township. Paul King, a youth employed as a moving picture operator, confessed to taking the cow to raise funds for debts. The owner, Mr. KE. B. Gampbell, recovered the animal in Apollo with help from the resolve of the boy’s father to pay expenses. The herd to which the cow belonged was recently purchased for $1,000.
