Man Who Cruelly Murdered Girl At Creekside Is Sentenced
Carmene Renzo was found guilty of first degree murder for the Creekside shooting of Marianna Barra. Judge Telford sentenced him to hang, with execution date to be fixed by Governor Pennypacker. Renzo, who had lived with the girl's parents, pursued her after she rejected him and shot her in her home. she died shortly after, and he feigned death to avert lynching.

Katharine A Detar died suddenly at the home of L D Munshower Sunday morning from neuralgia of the heart at age 72. She was born in Armstrong Township and lived there until Lh years ago when she moved here. She is survived by one sister Mrs Mary Jane Lytle of Venth Street. Mineral services were held yesterday afternoon by Roy Dr Ewarts Crawford with interment in Oakland Cemetery. John B Coy, oldest resident of Homer City, died at home Tuesday morning at age 101. He was born in Cherry Hill Township and lived in Homer City over 80 years. His wife predeceased him, and he is survived by his son John of Pettyburg. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery on Thursday afternoon.
