Members presented a purse mostly in gold totaling 25 dollars and baskets of zoo and other items for a New Years dinner. Motorman William Howe Killed in Rossiter Mine Collision
In Rossiter No. 1 mine a motorman William Howe was instantly killed when the runaway mule collided with his motor as he operated the slope. He attempted to reverse and leap to safety but his hand struck the motor lever, the mule was hurled and fell on him. The mate also died. Howe leaves a wife and three small children.
