Mystery of the lost Archduke Johann Salvator
Historians recount the escape and disappearance of Archduke Johann Salvator after eloping with Ludmilla Stubel. He renounced the throne, sailed as Join Orth, and vanished aboard the Margharita in July 1890. Reports of sightings persisted across continents, with Chilean, Argentine, and Japanese leads, while Kaiser Wilhelm and Franz Joseph doubted the fate. The Austrian will safeguarded a $10 million estate until fate was clarified, keeping the mystery alive.

Holland’s Way to Harbor Entrance by Sand-Bed Passages
In Holland the rivers meet the sea over broad sand-beds where shallow water prevents large ships. Instead of removing the sands, two large flat-bottomed craft assist entering vessels. Three pontoons are submerged to cradle the ship, water is pumped out, and the ship floats between them into deeper harbor waters. The return trip uses the same careful method.
