New Americans Lead County Red Cross Drive Success

In Indiana county the Red Cross drive united citizens across classes with strong turnout. Capt Chase O Melain and wife, previous heads, were re elected but resigned as Melain is in military service at a southern training camp. Christmas Reunion of Mauk Descendants Near Rochester Mills

Forty descendants of Joseph Mauk gathered for the 28th annual reunion at the Mauk home near Rochester Mills on Christmas Day. After a fine dinner, a program of music, recitations and addresses followed. Thomas Fleming spoke and William Fleming described his trip to Camp Gordon to highlight the YMCA work for boys in camps. Man Dies While Hauling Coal in Rayne Township

Benjamin McQuilken, about 53, collapsed from a load of coal on his sled near Honey Holton schoolhouse in Rayne township on Saturday. Death listed as due to a stroke. He lived with his family on a farm and leaves a widow and several children. Funeral services were held this morning and burial in Washington church cemetery. Ruth V Yaight dies suddenly in Malcolm home. William O Black dies in Adair county after a weeklong illness at 58. Denisay resident dies after stroke. John A Johnston dies in Morristown, N J, aged about 70. Blur B Kring dies at 31 near Greensburg. David G Galbreath, 86, dies in Saltsburg after heart trouble. Claude Wink, 9 months, dies of pneumonia in Pittsburgh area.
