Fire saves family as Guthrie vaults from blaze
The Rev George Guthrie Presbyterian minister of Josephine area and his family escaped a December 18 fire after Curline Guthrie used bed clothing as a rope ladder to lower wife and children from the second story. All were badly burned. Guthrie remains bedridden as valuables and a home owned by Miss Nannie Scully were destroyed.

Millions in Orders Placed Before War Declared Admitted
