A series of Christmas gatherings across Kerryhill township and nearby areas brought together numerous families. Observances featured large reunions, gift exchanges, and festive meals at homes in Johnstown Blairsville Latrobe and Crafton among others. Attendances included extended kin networks with multiple generations sharing in meals and ge neral holiday cheer.

The Olympics faced Greensburg professional basketballers at Library Hall on Saturday night. The home team played with vim and aggressiveness, keeping the score close in parts of the game. Final score listed as OL 0 42, marking the start of a series under the Olympics' own management after their rink contract expired. Tamaqua is slated to visit Monday.
Fire started in the front room on the second story of Frank Douglass residence on Ninth Street Sunday morning. Prompt work by the fire company prevented total destruction as the attic and adjoining room burned. only one hose was needed, with two others held in reverse. Damage mainly to the front and water damage minor. Douglass carried 2700 insurance with Indianaw Mutual Viros.

Miss Helen Elkin narrowly escaped fatal gas poisoning when a bedroom window was opened after she left at midnight, extinguishing a gas jet and a stove fire. Her parents Justice John P. Elkin and Mrs Elkin, with a hired man, forced open the door Friday morning to find her unconscious. After four hours of treatment she recovered, while relatives celebrated a silver wedding anniversary of Harvey and Miss Spence on the same day.

A sequence of property transfers across Indiana County shows numerous grantees and buyers. Notable deeds include Mary G. Thomas selling a lot in Indiana for 30000 dollars to Jacob Brett and George Nesbit selling 100 acres in Bracklick and Center to A A Stuchell for 2500 dollars.
John A Campbell of the town filed for bankruptcy in the United States court at Pittsburgh. Assets listed at six thousand dollars and liabilities at seventeen thousand. He previously served on the last County Commissioners board and later ran a lumber business and Central livery stables. At a stockholders meeting of the Clearfield and Cush Creek Coal and Coke Company, Langham and Wikin announced elections for the year. Mrs Anne W Tack of Arm county Washington sent samples of corn raised on her farm. Mrs Black wife of James Black, a former resident of Armatron township, reports 123 acres known as Red Clay Ht land with tenants producing 100 bushels per acre shelled corn without fertilizer. She also owns 28 across the Great Kyvuanha river button yielding 18 to 140 bushels per acre without fertilizer.
Miss Irene Oberlin visiting Miss Gorbrudle Croxsman fell on the rink Friday sustaining a bad bruise but returned home Saturday. Prof Charles Suatilou, secretary of temporary Presbyterian committees, delivered a fine address at the Presbyterian church, and the town joined in a union meeting after evening services.
Sixteen year old Harry King son of WD King of Parkwood shoots a fox near his father’s home before Christmas. The shot is praised as remarkable marksmanship by county shooters in a local note honoring practical hunting skill.
A Sleighton Marty and several youths from Dixon villa enjoyed sleighing and visited C B Widdowson in Penn Run Thursday evening. Social amusements marked the evening. Bouché reports town property sold. Thomas Edwards sold two properties on Grant Street to James Johnston of Pittsburgh for 4500 dollars. Edwardsstown exchanged 118 wired to fee in Plumcreek township Armstrong county.
Caption Harry W Feo of Company I National Guards notes the inspection will occur Thursday evening January 18. Jon W Miller and G Gamble Wleming of town form a partnership to engage in the real estate business. The firm has offices in the Marshall Building.

Directors adopted resolutions praising County Superintendent J T Stewart and instructors, urged larger school funding, support for the Teachers Retirement Fund, and amended laws to aid township high schools. Republicans of Indiana borough plan suggestion meetings tomorrow evening from 7:00 to 9:00.
