New Rural Mail Routes In Indiana In Force
Seven free rural delivery routes out of Indiana began Saturday, expanding daily door mail to residents within six miles of town. A past route was readjusted to seven routes now active. boxes must be erected for service. Mail leaves Indiana postoffice at 9 15 a m and returns by 3 to 4 p m. Carriers wear post office uniforms and sleigh delivery continues this winter with wagons to come next spring. Route carriers are James McKee, John T. Warden, James H. Simpson, John A. Ruffier, Abraham W. Lydick, Samuel S. Trimble, and Alexander W. Kinghorn.

Notorious Biddle Brothers Jail Escape Ends in Tragedy
The Biddle brothers Ed and John with the aid of Jail Warden Soffel’s wife Mrs. Soffel escaped Allegheny jail near Pittsburgh on Thursday morning using cut bars and weapons. They were pursued to Butler where a gun battle occurred. both brothers died from wounds Saturday night while Mrs. Soffel was hospitalized with a self-inflicted wound. The case closes a sensational crime spree marked by treachery and a daring breakout.

Mrs Annie Earl wife of Oliver C Earl of Allegheny city died at home on Tuesday afternoon of cancer aged about 51 She was a former Indiana resident and sister of Edward B Sweeny and William A Sweeny of town with two sisters in Altoona Her husband and 12 children all in the Pittsburg Allegheny neighborhood survived The family lived in Homer City briefly after marriage and at Blairsville where remains were interred Friday six of her sons served as pallbearers.
