A 16 day session begins Monday at the Court House with a strong corps of educators led by Dr Ferris of Ferris Institute Big Rapids and Dr James Ament of Indiana State Normal. Monday evening features recitals by Mabel Mot and a montage of pictures and prose illustrated lecture.

Gruesome discovery in Banks township yields a decomposed male remains later identified as Clark Shields, who vanished from Glen Campbell almost two years ago. Relatives recall he wandered briefly before disappearing. coroner ordered burial and an inquest to proceed.
Wills filed last week name James T. Pearce of South Mahoning township and Timma O Berry of Blairsville. Pearce directs his estate to convert to cash and pay interest to his widow, then distribute funds to grandchildren as they reach age. Executors named include M Jack. Berry's will provides weekly support to her sister Olive Brintlinger from August to September 1907 and bequests to relatives and friends, with Miss Della Goodrich in Hillsdale to receive remaining funds. Leslie Pattison hosted roughly six bachelor friends at a roast bear dinner at his West Church Street home. The bear, shot by Indiana hunters in Center County over three weeks prior, was skinned and meat prepared for serving, with Edna Wilson assisting. Guests included Ray Dy Gilland John St Clair Stephen Kiss J Hawaydouk Obis Trainer and Ralph Moorhead.
Indiana County records list government aid amounts for veterans starting in 1907. The couple plan housekeeping near Gaibleton and will be at home after January 3.
The fiftieth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Allison was celebrated at their Plumville area home in South Mahoning township on Thanksgiving day. Their children and grandchildren gathered for a noon dinner with substantial gifts as tokens of esteem. Mr. Allison, 78, and his wife, two years younger, enjoy good health and hope to reach many more milestones.
Rose Cottage in Vast Unkatreat hosted a Thanksgiving Day celebration for Mr and Mrs B M Lydick marking their fortieth wedding anniversary. Children and grandchildren attended except two absent relatives from Dayton and Panio Jefferson county. attendees included Mr and Mrs Charles Burrus and wife Panxsutawney Mrs G W Straliff Creekside Elmer D Lydick and Luella Mabel Lydick Myrtle Dick Brush Yalley and 22 grandchildren. The couple wed November 28 1847 and remain in good health.

Harry Slochbuer of Pittsburg was seriously shot on Thanksgiving Day at Alexander Johnston’s farm west of town when a gun being examined by companions discharged. Drs. Neal and Shaulla treated the wound and Slochbuer was taken to a Pittsburg hospital. Ralph Winaharg of Marchand was accidentally shot in an arm while hunting. his condition is healing. Mrs H Ky and Ryman with daughter from Clymer spent last week visiting. Miss Ruth Hessinger hosted twelve friends at her Rochester Mills home Monday evening. Clair Work visited his uncle A Kunts and returned home this week. Ey Hendrickson and daughter Cara spent Thanksgiving at home in Lams. They will attend preaching services at the Seetandtek church this week. The remainder of the week was largely inactive.
Andrew McCreary 72 of Conemaugh township drowned after wandering at night near Tunnelton while returning home from farming. Chicken found afloat signaling his loss. his body recovered from the reservoir after a night search. George Caldwell 20 of Stafford Green township died at Hines coal mine No. 2 when a rope rider fell under a loaded tram, his skull crushed and body mangled. Both men survived by families. services held and burial at Saltsburg Cemetery.
The December term of court opened with motions heard and hearings under way. Grand jury foreman D M Miller presided as true bills were returned on several indictments including perjury against C D Chambers and stabbing with intent to murder against Joe Depillio et al. Other indictments involved burglary, aggravated assault, bar license violations, and liquor sales. Several targets faced no true bill. The hearing list emphasized H S Millar v O S Hankle and promises of lengthy criminal proceedings.
