Many Pupils Pass Eighth Grade Examinations Countywide
County Superintendent James F. Chapman announced the county list of pupils who passed the April eighth grade exams. About half of the test takers earned diplomas entitling them to entrance to county high schools. Delays came from districts failing to report timely. Armstrong and Youngtown townships reported no results by noon yesterday. The list names dozens of students by township and surname, with many names repeated across centers. Additional qualifiers include a second group of students named for high school entrance.

Explosions Strike Homer City Area for Third Time
A blast wrecked a Homer City store and dwelling near the Pace family injuring no one seriously. The front was blown out causing $160 in damage plus shattered windows in nearby buildings. A similar blast targeted Tony Bianco last October, and authorities seek the perpetrator, suspecting an unnamed foreign element.

Fatal auto accident kills Kittanning physician's wife
Mrs Pearl Allison wife of prominent Kittanning physician Dr. Allison aged about 30 died in an automobile crash on North Fifth street near Hook's curve Sunday evening. The car driven by her husband struck the embankment at a sharp turn. She either jumped or was thrown from the vehicle and a rear wheel passed over her neck causing instant death. Dr Allison escaped injury and aided his wife. The couple had traveled from Indiana to visit relatives before the fatal accident. Mrs Allison was born in Clearfield and had no children.
