Homer City poised for vast growth with rail lines and coal
Homer City, Pennsylvania, a small rail hub with under 2,000 residents, is poised for major development. The area already hosts a large incubator works and the Hasinger Tuck Co with government contracts, plus a coal operation shipping multiple carloads daily. Plans include expanding coke works, moving Josephine Purnace and Cole Co. operations to Homer City, completion of Cherryree branch, and a New York Centralia trunk line. Real estate appears undervalued with lots near the depot selling from 100 to 500 dollars, while prospective buyers are invited to participate in upcoming sales. The issue also promotes a county superintendent candidacy and local land plots for sale, as well as a June business excursion to cobalt mining districts.
