Trainor the Noted Horse Thief Captured After Escape
David Trainor, famed horse thief, was captured near Deckers Point while fleeing with a horse owned by Henry T Brown of Bells Mills, Jefferson County. Released from prison days earlier after a three year four month term for a prior theft, he confessed to the July 9 1892 barn theft from William Spicher in Montgomery township. He faces new charges at the May term in Brookville jail.

Barn and Contents Burned in Buffalo Township Fire
The Blakley barn in Buffington township burned Monday evening, built only a year ago. The owner was away. flames consumed the interior and two horses died in the field with neck chains. The stock, grain, crops, a reaper and mower were destroyed. Insurance of $500 covered the barn. Blakley estimates total loss at $1500.

Severe electrical storm damages farms and homes in county
A severe electrical storm swept the northwest county early Sabbath morning bringing rain and hail. Streams rose and fields were washed. Lightning struck G. N. Redding's house in West Mahoning township, damaging the chimney. L. W. Neff's barn just over the county line was damaged by an electric bolt.

Drunken brawl ends with ear biting in Glen Campbell
Easter Sabbath fight among Hungarian foreigners in Glen Campbell County ends when one man bites another's ear. On Sunday the injured party swore out information before Justice Miller, presenting the severed ear as proof. Prosecutor pays $10 and costs to settle the case.

Brewer's license fight headed to Superior Court

Mr. Johnston Palmer of Burrell township died at midnight Friday of general debility aged 78 years 7 months. Born September 15 1818 he lived on the farm since 1868 and married Jane Palmer in 1840.
