Officials Brave Close Call On New York Central Route
Clymer May 11 Officials from the New York Central experienced two close calls on Thursday. During an inspection, the engine tender nearly toppled from a bridge over Twolick creek as it left the track, prompting urgent repairs to reduce danger. Later, a hog crossing the track caused a derailment that split the hog and scattered remains along the line, delaying trains for an hour. The town debates purchasing a refurbished frame schoolhouse from Cherryhill for borough needs, with opinions split on safety and value. Indians circus travel draws locals and neighboring residents by trolley, and Paul Witherow plans to grow the Evenlong Gazette presence.
