Bandits Rob Pass Through Paso In Santa Fe Train Heist

Paso, Tex May 16 Pursued by bloodhounds three bandits escaped with $26 000 in loot on the Santa Fe line north of French eight miles from Hastings Nevada with a special train carrying guards and deputies. A tramp released unconscious victims and news spread through nearby towns. A guard and agent were tied and shot dynamite shattered the safe as the robbers seized the money and fled toward Dawson New Mexico with pursuit under way by railway and territorial authorities.

Gases in Court Slow Capitol Graft Prosecution

Harrisburg May 15 The commonwealth has completed preliminary testimony for fraud in the capitol metallic fur al contract and will begin measurements to validate its contentions. Exhibits including furniture and metal pieces are shown in court as the trial proceeds toward rapid proofs next week. The defense objected to some exhibits but the state preserved a record of them. The case will move quickly, with no Saturday sessions scheduled.
