Wendell P Thompson youngest son of J Wilson Thompson died at 9:30 in the morning at Mrs M M Thompson's residence due to tubercular disease of the bowels following a cold last December. Born December 14, 1884 in Apollo he was educated locally and married Flavia Victoria Smith. He is survived by brothers and sisters including Lawrence, Merrill, Harriet, Margaret and Ella, among others, with funeral arrangements to be conducted by Rev Dr J Brownlee.

Peter Butty an Italian section hand employed as an night watchman at Locust by the B BR P railroad was instantly killed Friday morning between 6 and 7 o clock at a point between Locust and Savan. He was en route to the tool house at Savan when he either jumped or was thrown from a passing freight train. Several cars passed over his body.
