Fire damages PRR diesel engine near Lilly
A Pennsylvania Railroad diesel engine caught fire yesterday near Lilly, delaying the Pittsburgh to Altoona passenger train for over two hours. About 40 firemen from Lilly, Portage and Cresson fought the blaze after 3:15 p.m., damaging one engine and possibly an entire unit. The train continued with a replacement diesel while the burned locomotive was sent to Altoona for inspection and repair. No cause has been determined.
