U S Aids West Berlin In Three New Buildings

Indirect U S aid funds finance three key West Berlin structures aimed at boosting Western ties. A six million dollar Hilton hotel with 400 beds, a daring Congress Hall near the border, and a garment center building housing 35 to 40 firms plus eateries and a theater. Counterpart German funds cover about half, with Berlin and garment investments filling the rest.

Notable Jazz Saxophonist Franks Trumbauer Dies at 55

In Kansas City AP reports Frank Trumbauer, 55, famed jazz saxophonist, died yesterday after nine years with Paul Whiteman's orchestra begun in 1927. Also noted: novelist Edwin Corle, 50, of Santa Barbara. Chrysler VP Cecil Benton Thomas, 61, died. sportsman Ken non Jewett, 51, dies in Miami Beach.

Widow of Trotsky slams Soviet leaders as page boys in Mexico City

Trotsky’s 75-year-old widow in Mexico City says the present Soviet leadership is “page boys unable to command the respect of the world” and “blackeys who carried out the whims of a rancid maniac.” She argues Stalin was a product of his era, as was Nero, and implies similar historical context.
