Vienna June 12 A Vien na Peoples Court acquitted Dr Guido Schmidt former Austrian Foreign Minister of high treason charges. The court said he never joined the Nazi Party and did not profit from Anschluss, noting its task was to judge his guilt or innocence alone. Schmidt had served as state secretary for foreign affairs in 1936 before Schuschnigg later held the post. He was arrested December 5, 1945, the day after being accused as a war criminal.
