A bill signed by Gov. Leader appropriates 140000 for work on historical sites across Pennsylvania. Eligible locations include Olde Beaver County Ephrata Cloisters Lancaster County Drake Museum Drake Well Memorial Park Titusville Daniel Boone Home stead Berks County and Pennsylvania Farm Museum Landis Valley Lancaster County. Seaton and other White House advisers opposed Davis over linked policy issues but Davis faced opposition from Curtis and Hruska as well.

Russell Cave Exhibit Aims To Map Folsom Era East Of Mississippi

National Geographic Society and Smithsonian sponsor an expedition led by Dr. Matthew W. Stirling to Russell Cave near Bridgeport Alabama. The project seeks continuous deposits of tools bones and animal remains to establish a chronology of aboriginal Eastern North American cultures from 8000 B C or earlier to 1600 A D. If successful it would reveal the first datable Folsom remains east of the Mississippi and offer a culture column traceable through time.

Graduation Program Set At Allegheny College

Allegheny College will hold its 141st graduation exercises on Bentley lawn at 10 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time with Dillon Anderson addressing attendees. Lawrence Lee Pelletier will preside as president, and 155 graduates receive Bachelor of Arts degrees, 43 Bachelor of Science, plus 13 Air Science and Tactics cadets earning Air Force commissions. Honorary degrees go to Reverend James N. Gettemy, Althea Hunt, Elmer Hess, and Elmer C. Miller. Gettemy and Hunt are Allegheny alumni.
