Napoleon of Finance Falls as Forgery Suspect
New York. Dan 22. Wee Turman 27 of Brooklyn held on forgery charges after schemes allegedly to become a Napoleon of Finance caused losses to banks and individuals worth about 2,000,000. Turman allegedly forged names including Crawford Stevens of Schrader Song Inc and Ostey piano makers. District Attorney Pecora said several banks were victims. names not released.

Death ends honeymoon in New York City

Federal officers pursue posse in La Fourche shooting
In New Orleans on January 22 federal officers led by Chief Deputy Schexnade moved to arrest those who shot at and wounded three U S deputies during an attempt to seize Annie Lee, a Golden Meadow trapper.
