Mrs. W B McGinley and family spent a few days last week in Perenium. Charles Hilty and family and Frank Graham and family from Saltsbury spent Sunday with Alex Graham and family. J G Tomb is visiting Livermore friends for a few days.
In Chicago a revived secret star chamber conference involving Oscar Wolfe Chief of Police Morgan Collins and Judge Harris Olson raised reports of arrests in the death of William McClintock. The police entered the probe for the first time as reporters questioned delays in an inquest and the coroners office explained the ongoing investigation into whether the typhoid fever cause was the sole factor.
The New Century Club sponsors a six lecture series on Government and Politics led by Mrs Harry C Christy. Sessions start Tuesday January 27 at 7 30 PM in the Commodore Rest Room with lectures in Blairsville Clymer and Indiana. Tickets are one dollar for the course.
Army plans to complete air linkups with Europe and the Americas this year. C. N. S. staff correspondent Fred Walker reports Washington notes that after 1924’s global circumnavigation, the next objective is a coordinated air network linking America with Europe and South America.
Brigadier General William Mitchell announced ambitious Air Service goals including New York to Pekin New York to Manila and New York to Brazil nonstop routes to prove present day planes can cross oceans in 18 to 25 hours. He said San Francisco to Honolulu could be done in 20 to 24 hours and that regular continental links will soon link South America with North America. The remarks emphasize rapid intercontinental air travel shaping civilization and economic progress.
