Two Boys Save Five In Auto Submerged Creek

In Jackson Mississippi two white high school students Frank Arnold Jr aged 16 and Phil Ray aged 17 rescued five people from a car that had plunged into a creek after the driver Willis Allen said bright headlights from an oncoming car blinded him. The car occupants included Eugene and Violet Clark who died, and three children Fred 2 Dorothy Mae 3 and Robert 4 were saved along with Tom Stepney grandfather of the children.

Jet Crashes In Town and No Injuries

LEVITTOWN New York a United States Air Force Sabre Jet exploded in the air over a densely populated Long Island community and crashed to the street without deaths or injuries. Pilot Captain T Bruce Buechler age 30 said he was airborne ten minutes at 35000 feet when an explosion jammed the controls and he bailed out at ten thousand feet. The fuselage wreckage crashed and exploded on the curb of Blacksmith Road between neat rows of houses.
