Wealthy importer accused of beating wife to death in Chicago
Marcus Kammermann, 66, a cigarette and candy importer born in Austria, admitted to police he beat his wife Malwina, 55, during a dispute over $60,000 to $70,000 and a divorce. Neighbors summoned officers after they found her collapsed in their Lake Shore Drive apartment. Kammermann was held without charge.
