Two Injured In Accidents Thru County
Two persons were injured in four Indiana County highway mishaps involving seven vehicles with damages near $3,000. Injured are Peter Sokolowski, 53, of East Pittsburgh, and Cornelius Krug of Nicktown. Sokolowski, in fair condition at Indiana Hospital, suffered head and chest injuries and possible leg fracture. The Nicktown man’s injuries were not disclosed. Sokolowski’s crash occurred nine miles north of Indiana on Route 118 when his car ran off, overturned after striking an embankment while traveling north on Route 119.

Big British Train Crash Fatal To 13
In Barnes England a train packed with theatergoers crashed into a standing freight train near Barnes Station. Thirteen died and over 35 injured, including two children. Two Train Crews Die In Ebensburg Freight Crash
Two Pennsylvania Railroad freight trains collided head on nine miles north of Cresson between Ebensburg and Bradley Junction in Cambria County. The crash at 7 37 am EST killed at least two crew members and wounded four others. The dead were not named. A steam locomotive and a three unit diesel freight with 12 aboard crashed, the diesel travelling north struck the other train. Injured crew members were admitted to Altoona hospitals.

Woman Dies Of Burns In Hospital Here
An elderly Indiana woman died yesterday at Indiana Hospital from second and third degree burns suffered when her dress ignited from a coal stove. Mrs. Selina Fowler, 70, of 653 South Seventh Street Indiana, was rushed to treatment after her neighbor Mrs. Cochran smothered the flames with a blanket. Fowler, a Newfoundland native, had lived in Pittsburgh before moving to Indiana about a year and a half ago.
