Latrobe resident William Haag, 30, was the first hunting accident victim, found near Ligonier weak from blood loss after a self-inflicted gunshot believed to be from an unaware hunter. A blaze at the Ruttenberg General store in Nemacolin near Carmichaels Pa. injured Herman Zimmerman 17 of St Paul Minn and Mary Slickish 21 of Carmichaels each clerks. Owner Charles Ruttenberg was rescued from a second floor apartment. Zimmerman lowered him to ground with a sheet rope. Slickish jumped from a window fracturing her ankle. Zimmerman later jumped to safety and was hospitalized.
New York December 1 UP The cause of death of Robert Ames a stage and screen star could not be determined definitely after examination by City Toxicologist A O Getler who noted indications of delirium tremens He found no traces of poison or alcohol in the system though traces of bromides were present not in amounts to kill Delirium tremens can occur without immediate alcohol in the blood.

A frame double dwelling owned by Philip Deforteni burned to the ground early today on the Indiana Blairsville highway between Palmer town and Blacklick. Firemen estimated a $6,000 loss after lacking a water supply hindered efforts to fight the blaze. Mr and Mrs Deforteni were visiting relatives nearby when the fire broke out about 12 45 am. The hillside property near the Blacklick sub station of the Indiana County Street Railways Company was vacant on one side.

Action postponed on a two cent per year gasoline tax to fund work relief as committee votes 15 to 9 to report the bill.
