Indiana prepares for Pennsylvania Week October 16 to 22 with county chairmen arranging events and a Pennsylvania Week Special Train due October 20. The observance highlights the state’s history industry and notable sons and daughters to promote Pennsylvanians and Indiana connections.
Indiana County units returned to their home area early this morning with a small crowd at the station and Armory. Co F Indiana seeks 103 recruits to reach full strength before induction into Federal service. Interested men should visit the Armory on Wayne avenue or apply on drill nights. Drills now three evenings a week from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Amanda O Hara of 1316 Water Street Indiana suffered a minor arm injury yesterday when a taxi and another car collided at Lawry and Nixon avenues. The taxi owned by Orr Transportation Company was driven by Norman F. Clawson. The other vehicle was operated by Fred White. Damage estimated at 175 dollars for the taxi and 50 dollars for the other car. She received dispensary treatment at Indiana Hospital.

Indiana County buyers purchased 24 properties and 88 parcels at the County Treasurer's Sale held at the courthouse. From 1,835 originally listed for 1948 taxes, 423 remained for sale after payments, with 112 still unsold before yesterday's auction. County Treasurer John Woods reported the figures and noted a legal notice had been published.

The driver claimed the other car had no lights. police could not locate the driver. Parking receipts for last month totaled 341.90 with 28.00 in fines. The rest of the session was routine.

The advance extended about 10 miles east of Chinju, with Red-held rubble in the south.
