Boy Killed by Lightning In Northeastern County Storm
An eleven year old boy, Albert Oskoska, died after being struck by lightning while walking along a road during a severe electrical storm that swept the northeast part of the county on Friday afternoon. He is survived by his father Lawrence Oskoska of Barneshoro.

Copperhead Bite Sent Joe Tott to Dixonville Hospital
On June 27 Joe Tott of Sample Run was bitten in his garden by a copperhead snake. Dr Evang treated the wound in Clymer and he was moved to Dixonville hospital where his condition improved. Medical aid prevented serious trouble though copperhead bites can be fatal. His arm swelled, and amputation was once feared.

Indiana beat Josephine 3 to 2 in a Trolley League twilight game at Normal grounds. Marion Center pitcher McGregor started for Indiana and, despite wild moments, held the Normal lineup with runners on base. Brickley of Normal allowed hits that produced runs, while Indiana played shorthanded without Martin and Foreman.

Appenns company F tenth regiment N G Py of Indiana bought a new refrigerator from the Wddy Refrigerator Company via the Indiana Hardware Company for use at annual encampments. A birthday surprise for Miss Blanche Snyder of Rochester Mills occurred Wednesday June 21 at her home. she received several presents and the party was enjoyable. Two children of Mr and Mrs John G Walbeck of West Wheatfield Township died from whooping cough. a third child is seriously ill. A shooting affray occurred in Helvetia Clearfield County Saturday night around 10 30 with Poe Sies wounding Mike Kurtiz. Sies fled and remains at large. The Indiana Normal School graduating class held a ceremony at South Sixth Street Friday evening with faculty guests. the Sutton home was decorated in orange and black and Japanese lanterns illuminated the veranda. A barn owned by L J Reithmiller near Lovejoy was totally destroyed in a storm on Sunday June 11. initial reports blamed lightning, but an insurance adjuster cited unusual damage with the barn floor left intact while the roof was blown to a hillside about a quarter mile away.

Killed by Falling Limb in Cameron County Woods
Ira Pitman a well known woods man of Cockport was killed Saturday June 17 near St Marys Cameron county by a falling limb. Death occurred about 4 PM and the body was taken to Cherrytree and interred at Uniontown. He was a young man of good habits, unmarried, with $1700 estate, and leaves distant relatives and many friends in the northeastern county.

Missing Clymer man hunted by broad search across town
A large portion of Clymer males joined Tuesday morning in a statewide style search for Christopher Barriss who vanished from his home sometime between early Saturday and five o clock. Barriss a miner by trade had not worked recently due to illness and mental changes were noted. His wife five adult sons and other relatives kept vigil as he disappeared after quietly leaving for Indiana to see a doctor and not returning by Saturday night or Sunday. The full town pressed on with the search Tuesday with no sign of him yet.
