Severe Storm Strikes Indiana County Causes Crop Damage
A heavy rainstorm swept through Indiana County yesterday afternoon and last night, washing out fields and flattening corn. Lightning accompanied the rain in places, causing damage and disruptions to telephone lines. Frank Furst's home on South Seventh Street was struck by lightning, severely shocking three of his children, who were revived with quick action by their father.

About 475 acres of coal lands in Henderson township were bought by General Manager Lucius W. Robinson for the Rochester & Pittsburg Coal & Iron Company at fifty dollars per acre. Buyers include Jas W Wachob 150 acres Jas Cochran 160 acres Geo K Tyson about 120 acres Samuel Bigley 26 acres Abram Peace 39 acres. Tyson of Big Run and Samuel States of Cloe arranged the sale through options on the land. Part of the tract lies near the borough of Big Run. Development is expected soon.
