White farm rail line contracts and extensions discussed
Information from local sources states Mesars Patton & Kerr of Clearfield won the four mile contract including a tunnel on the White farm. Engineers are ordered to extend surveys twenty-five miles beyond the area, with plans for a curve and summit in the tunnel. Aimed extensions may connect to the Delaware and Lackawanna Coal and Iron Co. haul to Buffalo, and the B R & P system is planned for double tracking through the county.

Two groups of Wabash engineers are reportedwest and south of the county running lines with hopes to locate the eastern outlet through the county. The piece notes funds will come later as other growth continues this year.
A Relic of 1856 at the Engine House Site
Workers from the Pennsylvania Railroad Company are erecting a new structure this week at the old engine house, built in 1856 and long deteriorated. They have not disclosed whether the frame will be reused or a completely new building will rise, marking a much needed modernization after years of decay.

Murder at Wehrum Inquest Set After Lodging of Evidence
Coroner M M Davis received a telephone message from Squire Blakeley that a murder occurred at Wehrum early this morning. The killer went to the victim’s home and shot him dead, then escaped and left the country. Coroner Davis started for Wehram about 9 o clock Wednesday morning to hold an inquest.

Summer Tours to the North by Pennsylvania Railroad
For 1902 two personally conducted tours to Canada and Northern New York are set for July 19 and August 12. The trips cover Niagara Falls, Thousand Islands, St. Lawrence Rapids, Quebec, Saguenay, Montreal, Ausable Chasm, Lake Champlain and George, and Saratoga over fifty one days at $125. Each tour is led by a tourist agent with a chaperon to supervise unescorted Indies.
