Social Notes Crown Final Night of Old Year Masquerade
The town hosted its Second Annual New Years Masquerade with novel costumes and picturesque dominos. Music by Gernert of Pittsburg delighted a large crowd including guests from McKeesport Altoona Greensburg and Columbus Ohio. The Masonic Fraternity held a reception and banquet in the Odd Fellows' Hall with about 140 attendees and a Presbyterian ladies prepared refreshments.

The Saltsburg will of Sarah M A Pearce filed last week bequeaths household furniture, money, notes, and mortgages to daughter May I Pearce. The May 10, 1900 date is given.

Policeman Injured in Ferocious Saturday Evening Arrest
Charles Byers, a visitor, became intoxicated and was taken toward jail by Chief Harris. Samuel and James Byers, his brothers, attempted a rescue leading to a melee in which Harris dislocated his right shoulder. Samuel was jailed for resisting an officer. Charles paid $5 for drunkenness and disorderly conduct. James fled. a search continues.
