Bills move to end age based retirement in California
In Sacramento Governor to decide bills ending mandatory retirement for public and private workers. Public employees would keep jobs past retirement ages with notice and competency checks. law enforcement and firefighting are excluded. Private sector bans age based hiring or firing past 40 with limited exceptions and requires notice and arbitration by the Fair Employment Practices Commission.
